Series Points
Participants will be awarded points from each event based on their placement relative to the rest of the winners in their gender division. The event winners will receive 1000 points each. If Cate, wins the Black Bear Half Marathon in a time of 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 minutes), and Jennifer finishes the race in 2 hours (120 minutes), Cate would receive 1000 points, and Jennifer would receive 750 points ( (90/120) * 1000 = 750). This scoring format emphasizes finish time over position placement - yes, we hope you race hard!
Series Placement
Compete in any 3 of the series events to qualify for end of season scoring. Final scores will be tallied and winners announced following the Jingle Bell 5k in December. For qualified series participants, placements will be awarded to the top 3 female and male overall and first female and male in each age group.
Series Prizes
Our shoe sponsor Altra is giving a fresh pair of their latest kicks to the first female and male overall series winners. The top 3 female and male overall will also win cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 respectively. Stay tuned for future announcements about other prize sponsors!

All qualifying participants (minimum 3 racers) are entered into a raffle to win a pair of shoes from Altra and other prizes from sponsors and local businesses.
